After Chris and Stewie go missing for several days during a family hike, a panicked Lois seeks comfort from a psychic medium. Though the boys are eventually rescued by Bruce, Lois remains obsessed with the supernatural. Brian attempts to debunk the medium’s "cold reading" techniques by having Peter demonstrate them to Lois, but the plan backfires when Peter begins to believe he actually possesses extrasensory perception (ESP) . Peter subsequently opens a psychic business, which ends disastrously when his fraudulent advice leads to a gruesome accident involving a missing person and a bomb.
