Savoia-marchetti S.79 Sparviero Bomber Units [2025]

The Sparviero served in every theater where the Regia Aeronautica (Italian Air Force) fought, transitioning from high-altitude level bombing to low-level torpedo strikes.

The ("Sparrowhawk") was Italy’s most widely produced and successful bomber of World War II, with approximately 1,370 units built. Known as the "Hunchback" ( il gobbo ) for its distinctive dorsal hump, it evolved from a record-breaking 1930s racing plane into a formidable medium and torpedo bomber that dominated the Mediterranean.
