In the third and final installment of the film series, , the story shifts from the high-fantasy epic of the previous films to a more grounded (and often criticized) family comedy. Plot Summary

: While hiding from the bullies in the school library, Bastian finds Mr. Coreander and the magical Neverending Story book. He uses it to wish himself into Fantasia to escape.

The story follows a 13-year-old , who is struggling to adjust to a new life after his father remarries. Bastian now has a hostile stepsister named Nicole and is being targeted at his new high school by a gang of bullies known as "The Nasties," led by Slip (played by a young Jack Black ).
