Use this method if the server will not boot or you are migrating to new hardware. You will need the original Windows Server 2008 R2 installation media (DVD or ISO).

Restoring Windows Server 2008 R2 generally refers to either a (fixing configurations) or a Bare Metal recovery (restoring the entire OS after a crash). Full Bare Metal Recovery

: Select System Image Recovery from the list of system recovery options.

: Follow the prompts to format/repartition disks if necessary, then click Finish to begin the restoration process. System State Recovery (Within Windows)

: Go to Start → Administrative Tools → Windows Server Backup .
