As an urban feminist geographer with a research interest in African cities, I was initially pleased when the web series, An African City, debuted in 2014. The series was released on YouTube and also available online at www. anafricancity.tv. Within the first few weeks of its release, An African City had over one million views. Created by Nicole Amarteifio, a Ghanaian who grew up in London and the United States, An African City is offered as the African answer to Sex and the City, and as a counter-narrative to popular depictions of African women as poor, unfashionable, unsuccessful and uneducated. Michael Jackson Vs Phil Collins - Do You Remem... May 2026

An "open letter to a closed mind" that reflects on neglect and how time erodes memories.

This track is a standout from the Dangerous album, defined by its sleek production by . It’s a rhythmic, upbeat celebration of a past romance that feels soulful yet modern for its time.

Focuses on the joy of "having fallen in love" with someone and asking, "So why did it end?".

A "sentimental piano-ballad" with a hypnotic, drum-machine-led rhythm that induces a "bittersweet" feeling.

Famous for its nine-minute, $2 million short film set in ancient Egypt, featuring Eddie Murphy and Iman . Phil Collins - "Do You Remember?" (1990)

While they share a similar name, Michael Jackson ’s "Remember the Time" and Phil Collins’ "Do You Remember?" offer two very different takes on nostalgia. One is a high-energy anthem, while the other is a somber soft-rock ballad . Michael Jackson - "Remember the Time" (1992)

Sophisticated dance-pop with "warmth and nostalgia" reminiscent of MJ's Motown roots.

Released from the album ...But Seriously , this is a poignant ballad that captures the "emotional turmoil of a failing relationship". It leans heavily on nostalgia, but with a sharper edge of regret.
